As much as we like talking about our work culture, flexible shifts and other great aspects of working as a delivery courier at Lieferando, we know that at the end of the day, the pay is what makes the difference. Here is an overview of everything you need to know about wage, tips and surcharges at Lieferando.
Wage, tips & surcharges for couriers
Base wage, surcharges & tipping
What makes Lieferando unique as an employer in the delivery business in Germany, is that couriers get paid per hour instead of per delivery.
By working as a courier, you can earn a base wage per hour. This is without surcharges and tips, so you could earn even more, making it one of the best paying simple jobs to do. In the next few paragraphs, we’ll break down the different components that would make up your wage.
Do Lieferando couriers get surcharges?
On top of the base wage, you will receive surcharges during certain shifts and on specific days like public holidays or Sundays. You will receive more information about our compensation model during your onboarding.
Do Lieferando couriers get tips?
You can also earn tips! Some people might tip you in cash at the doors, others might use the app to show their appreciation. If you get tipped at the door, you can pocket it directly. Digital tips will be paid out tax-free at the end of the month.
Do you get sick days or vacation days at Lieferando?
If you get sick – no worries.
Just make sure to let us know before your shift and hand in your medical certificate.
You will also receive the statutory minimum holiday entitlement under the Federal Holidays Act (Bundesurlaubsgesetz) based on your contract type. For example if you work full-time with us you will receive 4 weeks paid vacation a year!
