- Banh Mi Xa Xiu / Char Siu Pork
Product informatie Bánh mì xá xíu is the Vietnamese BBQ pork version. Pork shoulder is marinated in a mixture of hoisin sauce, five-spice powder, garlic, soy sauce, and honey, then roasted at high heat until the outside caramelizes into a dark, glossy crust. The inside remains juicy. The contrast between the sticky, sweet outer layer and the tender meat inside defines the xá xíu. The structure follows the same five-element pattern. Pork liver pâté on the bottom half, Vietnamese mayonnaise on the top, followed by the sliced xá xíu, then đồ chua, cucumber, coriander, and jalapeño. The sweetness of the BBQ pork is the dominant flavor accent. The đồ chua provides balance and resets the palate between bites.Bánh mì xá xíu is the Vietnamese BBQ pork version.
