How do contracts work at Lieferando?

Our goal is to ensure you make the most of your time as a Lieferando courier, and that you’re right for the job. That’s why we work with actual employment contracts, rather than hiring people on an independent basis. Getting your contract right is important - for you and for us.

Before we get into choosing your contract type, let's take a look at how our courier contracts work:

  • To work with us, you have to be 18 years old or above. If you’re currently under the age of 18, we hope you’ll apply to work with us when you’re able to.

  •  We have different types of contracts available. We can discuss which contract fits you during the hiring process.

When will I get a permanent contract?

When starting your job as a Lieferando courier, all of our contracts are limited to 6 months. After 6 months, your contract may be extended by another 6 months. This pattern repeats to a maximum of 24 months after which your contract will be turned into a permanent position.

What is an employment type?

The employment type determines how many hours you’ll be requested to work within a certain period. Although we try to take personal preferences into consideration as much as possible, the employment type depends on the hours available.

What are the different employment types?

These are the different contract options:

  • Full-time (at least 35 hours per week)

  • Part-time (at least 30 hours per week)

  • Midi job ( choose between 12, 20, and 25 minimum hours per week)

  • Working Student (minimum 12 and maximum 20 hours per week)

  • Mini job (5 hours per week)

Which documents do I need to submit to get a job?

In order to get started as a courier, you need to submit the following documents:

  • A copy of your passport or identification document

  • A copy of your (work) visa or residence permit (for non-EU citizens)

  • A current university enrollment certificate (only for students)

  • A city registration certificate (only when your address is not listed on your ID)

We’ll also need some basic personal information to set up the contract, such as your name, home address and date of birth.

I already have a job, can I still work with you?

If you already have a job you might be able to still work with us depending on the hours that you work. For example if you have a full-time or part-time job you can still do a minijob with us and earn up to €603 monthly.

Our recruiters are happy to help you find out which contract will suit you best!

I am a student, do you offer jobs for me too?

Yes! We are happy to offer students a working student or mini job contract.

However, if you already have a student job, we cannot offer you a second job (this doesn’t apply to mandatory internships).
